Naples, Fla. B.S. ’74 Barbara was born in the 1950s in Jacksonville, Florida. Her mother was a high school/college math teacher, and her father was a chief petty officer in the Navy. When it came time for college, she was undecided between Social Work and Nursing. Florida State had both programs, and UF did not. Florida State was a wise choice for her as she met many lifelong friends. She also met her husband in the Marching Chiefs (and both of their children were Marching Chiefs, too). She enjoyed FSU’s School of Nursing (as it was called when she attended FSU). Barbara has worked at TMH, UF Shands Gainesville, Naples Community Hospital, and the Leon County Health Department. She was also the School Health Supervisor of Collier County and a plasma pheresis Nurse at the Community Blood Bank of Naples. She loved each job she had!
