Denver, Colo. MBA ’90 Erin Ennis arrived in Tallahassee in 1984, never dreaming she would still be here more than 35 years later. An Orlando native with a bachelor’s degree in zoology from the University of Florida, she later pivoted to dentistry and eventually found her way to the FSU College of Business. She was excited for the opportunity but expected her time in the capital city to be brief. But, as she has learned multiple times throughout her career, things don’t always go as planned. And, in this case, Ennis is glad that they didn’t. What was initially intended to be a two-year rendezvous in Tallahassee has instead blossomed into a loving relationship with the city, and she became a prominent and dynamic business leader in the region. Since earning her MBA from FSU College of Business in 1990, Ennis has served on the college’s board, delivered keynote addresses at commencements, spent nine years on the Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare board and served as president of the Tallahassee Chamber.
